South Kesteven is a thriving region, within the East Midlands, offering great opportunities for local, national and international businesses. Encompassing Grantham (70 minutes to London or 68 minutes to Leeds by train), Stamford (located on the A1 motorway), Deeping (only 8 miles from Peterborough) and Bourne (16 miles from Peterborough).  South Kesteven is home to 140,000 people, of which 59.8% of which are of working age.

The economy of South Kesteven features a diverse mix of sectors and is made up of 5,795 businesses which combine to produce a GVA of c.£2.7bn a year and operate at a productivity level of £43,590 per worker. South Kesteven is home to some prestigious organisations including; Cummins, The Woodland Trust, Totemic, Lincolnshire Herbs, Zazzle Media and Northrop to name a few.

South Kesteven is an excellent location for businesses, with property and land costs and gross weekly pay being below average levels.

South Kesteven’s largest sectors are Manufacturing and Health, with Professional, Scientific and Technical featuring as the largest sector based on the number of business units, followed by Construction.

With an much higher than average economic activity rate of 81.8%, a gross weekly pay of £468.30, and below average commercial property and land costs, South Kesteven is an affordable place to invest and do business.

GVA growth in South Kesteven has been strong since the turn of the decade and outstripped national and regional growth rates. Productivity too has increased at nearly double the regional and national growth rates, bringing it back on par with the regional average. The district has above average employment in Manufacturing, Construction, Wholesale, Retail, Accommodation and Food Services, and Health.
